Friday is PIE DAY!

Pie Day is slightly different today, but I'll be back with the normal PIE DAY agenda tomorrow.
For now, I am going to give you a sneaky peeky of a test pie that I made earlier in the week.
I'm making the real pie today, possibly as we speak!, for a photo shoot.
This shoot is for a book (yes, I know!!), and involves a lot more cooking than just pie.
Oh-and also some eating of all this cooking-yum!
I'll keep you posted!!

Also, in honor of PIE DAY.
A couple of weeks back, in a post about the Creative Connection, I gave you a teaser.
I said that I would later reveal the identities of the people behind this table.
Well, ta-da!
That's me and Ree Drummond, aka the Pioneer Woman, enjoying some pie.
I met her at the event, and she ate two whole pieces of my pie.

I don't think she'll ever mention me on her blog though.
I wouldn't reveal my pie crust recipe and I think she was a little peeved.
And, yes, I know she's not the only one who is peeved,
but a girl's gotta have her secrets:)

  3. Hi! I'm stopping over from Bluebird Notes ~ so nice to meet you ~
I read about your pies last week ... this one looks wonderful. I've never tried to make one like this.

    I've been baking so many apple pies, cakes, muffins etc... {we have some apple trees around our house and we've been blessed with some great seasons!}

I don't blame you for not sharing your recipes ...just yet...
I ordered my copy of Holiday and will look forward to seeing your contribution as well!

Many blessings to you and happy baking * Maria

  4. Marisa-it's funny. The day that you posted the link to Ree's post about posting every day, I was feeling guilty for not posting every day because I was too busy working on the design for her luncheon at the event:)
drat-I should have had a book autographed for you....

Hi Maria-welcome! Koralee is the bomb!
Mmmmm....bet your home is smelling wonderful with all of the apple goodie baking going on.
Wish I could hop over for a taste!

It's only the crust recipe that I won't share (yet). Plenty of fillings to try with your own crust (or store bought-I have nothing against that!).
Happy Baking to you as well.
    best, C
