change of season, fresh starts.

I love ritual, and the calender allows me so many natural ones.  The beginning of a day, a week, a month or the change of season gives me an excuse for a fresh start.  September is one of my favorites.  I always loved back to school time........new school supplies and new school clothes were great joys, and I still allow myself to engage in that ritual, even though I haven't officially gone "back-to-school" in years.  This year, I am particularly ready for a fresh start with this new season, and this blog will be an important part of that.  So, I have bought myself a few new school supplies (and some shoes, oh, and a bag) and my desk is fully outfitted for this next adventure.  This week, I will continue to mark the transition from summer to fall from my garden and my kitchen, and next week I hope to offer some design inpiration as I tackle some re-decorating projects.

Welcome to September and all of its old ritual and new adventures.
Thanks for checking me out.

  1. Christine so good to hear from you!
Ironically today is my "ketchup" day and I just finished hanging laundry on the line, pickling banana peppers and cooking down Roma tomatoes for spaghetti sauce in the freezer. Iwas going to bake apple pies but opted for starting a new quilt. (Darn, wish it was an apron!)
Windows are open, breeze is blowing, life is good!
Would all of this fit on a postcard of days gone by?
    Off to the sewing machine,
