Friday is PIE DAY!

Our family's annual game feed is this weekend.
Tomorrow, I will be whipping up venison stew, helping set the tables, and playing sous chef to my brother.
Today, however, was dedicated to baking pies. Lots and lots of pies!

I had a few requests, and there are definitely pies that are especially popular.
So, no new recipe this week-just a look back at some old favorites.
Chocolate Bourbon Pecan
This might well be my most popular pie. Pecans, chocolate, and bourbon-what's not to like, right?
Chess Pie
I love this pie for it's simplicity and sugary, buttery decadence.
Apple
Apple Cranberry
(oh my goodness....this brought about the realization that I have never actually blogged about Apple Cranberry pie. Lots of other cranberry pie recipes, but no Apple Cranberry. That will have to be remedied. Soon!)

The fruit pies are currently in the oven and I'm getting ready to pack up the others.
Can't wait to lay out the buffet, and dig into one or two slices.

Happy PIE DAY!

  2. Amazing blog! Is your theme custom made or did you
download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a
few simple tweeks would really make my blog stand out.

Please let me know where you got your design.
    Many thanks
